Second: Electrical box
Go into your attic and find the electrical box at the ceiling of the bathroom. It should be attached to a joist and be either a plastic or metal box right above the bathroom. There will be wires running into the box.
Third: Unscrew the box
Unscrew it and take all the wires out of the box to where they are out loose. Throw out the box.
Fourth: Fan
Now you will day the fan where the electrical box was at. The hole should be completely covered, and it should be right against your ceiling joist.
Fifth: Pencil
Now, you will use a pencil to make a mark around the edge of the fan on the drywall. Use your jigsaw to cut around the line that you marked out.
Sixth: Placement
Now put the fan into the hole that you made and attach it to the joist. Make sure that you screw the bracket to the joist as well.
Seventh: Connect
Make sure that you connect the hose for the exhaust to the fan and follow the directions that are provided. You will again need your jigsaw to run the hose so that it vents to an exterior wall.
Eighth: Wires
Now you will wire in the fan using the wires that you took out of the electrical box. This is done by color coding the wires. Use wire nuts to make sure that the connections are safe and seal it all up with tape.
Ninth: Power
Now you will put the vent on inside the bathroom and then turn on the power to the bathroom.
Tenth: Test
Make sure that you give your fan a test run so that you know if it is working properly or not. To be sure that everything is in proper working order, your fan should be attached to the same switch that you know had worked previously.

Close off the seams on the vent hose that you have cut by simply pressing together the edges. Use the crimping tool to make a crimp about every half inch around the ends of the hose. Attach one end of the hose to the vent hose that is already in place, and the other to the fan connector. Use the screws and your foil tape to make sure it is sealed and secure.
